Membership
Welcome prospective and current members, we're so happy that you're a part of the BURST family!
Follow these three steps to become a member:
- Join us on connect
- Look up BURST
- You'll see a blue "JOIN" button, click that
- This allows us to send you information (events, socials, etc.) through email! - Fill out our intake form
- Dues are $30 for new members and $20 for existing members - Satisfy the points requirement every semester!
Participation in a variety of BURST events is required. You must earn 15 points per semester in the categories below in order to be an active member:
- 3 general events (general meetings)
- 4 academic events (journal clubs, workshops)
- 4 service hours (community service, can be with BURST or outside service)
- 3 social events (any of our socials)
- 1 special point (HoT research symposium hosted by BURST)

Bonus Points:
- Get points for your research involvement:
If you are involved with a research lab on campus, we offer 1 point in the category of your choice and will decrease your total point requirement! Email baylorBURST@baylor.edu with the name of your lab, your PI's name + email, and a 2-3 line description of your research!
- Get points for being on a committee:
At the end of the semester you will be given 1 point in the category of your choice.
Leadership Positions:
BURST Offers a variety of leadership positions designed to help you get more involved, gain valuable skills, and help shape the direction and growth of our community. Applications for committee positions will open during the start of the Fall Semester.
